Exclamation "Show me the way to go home;" flash-light/torch' reviews

This thread on a 'Sister Board' is too good not to bring to your attention. We all fish when the sun's going down/or gone down ... so how do you find your way back to your car?

A 'flash-light/torch' of some sort (usually small). But what works, what's a 'flash in the pan,' et. al.

A good read: http://www.theflyfishingforum.com/fo...ead-lamps.html

There's not a rechargeable out there that will beat these.
Hotline L200 Explorer Torch
They last for years and unlike most have also got and LCD setting which is bright but will run for 24h.
Most of the farmers in Cornwall cant be wrong.
Got mine for £15 on special offer.

Hi,

Have a look at this link
Headlamps | Petzl

Get issued Petzl headtorches at work. Can't fault them. Mine is a battery Tikka version. Lightweight and very bright. Lots of different options from rechargeable to battery types. Also got red light on them too if you want to be a bit more covert, e.g changing flies without lots of bright light. Red light doesn't disrupt your night vision either. Some have flashing strobe function too. Again useful if you were walking along a road into traffic especially as most fishing gear is green and you aren't very visible. Advantage of head torch is that it leaves you hands free too.
Hope this helps
Nick.

Heck of a price, and a lantern like I've not seen before. Both a regular 'bulb,' AND the smaller bulbs. Someone did 'build a better mouse trap.' Have a rechargeable lantern that puts out 2,000,000 (yes, that's two million) lumins but how often do you need something like that?

Good call Fred,

I had one of those rechargeable large torches, they're OK, great for Farmers and avid dog walkers! I also have the digital headlight with band, for fishing - It's great.

But, I'm now looking for?? A RECHARGABLE RUBBER COVERED UNBREAKABLE TORCH, one that can be placed in a pocket or clipped on to a coat! A torch that will last; and not cost an arm and a leg! Some of the torches that I've described, can be extremely expensive! Anyone know where to get the kind of torch I'm looking for??

"M," that would be a great find! 'D Cell' sizes I can get over here ... but everyone I've seen is at least 12" long .. not something you're going to stick in a pocket.

Looking forward to seeing if the type of light you've described above is actually on the market.

I got one of these okuma caps from Mularkeys with the led built in £4.99
The hat alone is worth a fiver.
Far easier than holding a magnalight between the teeth.
