Default Is there dayticket fishing around Conwy?

Hi All,

may be holidaying in this area in may, wondered if anyone had info on dayticket or free trout fishing around here?

Mainly interested in rivers, streams, but would consider a stillwater.
The wilder the better!

Many thanks

Aye there are day and week tickets available on the Conwy. Llanrwst Anglers club (available from Howell Jones Solicitors) , Gwydyr Hotel, Betws Y Coed, available from hotel. Not sure if Betws Y Coed angling club do day tickets, always worth a try though. Predominantly a sea trout/salmon river though. Drop me a PM when you're planning to visit and I can show you the areas if you want.

The river river often refered to as the Conway (I know Stu ) however it's all in the County of Conwy.

Steve, it very much depends what part of this mountainous county you plan on staying in. Early May is also a bit early...
If based near the A55 expressway some of the best Anglesey waters will only be 30 mins away. Best time of year for the island waters which weed up quickly, most years anyway.

I will be heading over that way for my hols aswell this year stu used to spend a month every year in the area (Betws Y Coed) but unfortunately that was rock climbing, all those waisted hours spent spent above the rivers on craggs instead on in them.

We'll be staying at a farm called Y Granar, Nr Rowen.

It looks on the map as if there are some small feeder streams heading up into the hills - this looks like the sort of thing I'd like to fish. I'll have to get some more info nearer the time, as have yet to actually get the time off work!
