Default How much do you hang?

On my travels last year I happened to venture into a Bass Pro outlet and went straight to the fly fishing section. I bought various flies, odds and ends-bits and pieces etc.
One of the items I bought, which at the time I thought would be handy, was a necklace type thing.
It has loads of beads and in between them are clips to hang fishing things on. As the weather's been bad and I haven’t been able to get out, I have been messing around with my gear and had come across this contraption. Now would be a good time to load this thing up I thought. I have my forceps -they went on. My snips, drying pad and degreaser-they went on. Still plenty of clips left-so on went my frog’s fanny, leda sink and other bits. There is a bar that spans across the necklace for tippet material-on went 4 spools of different breaking strain. That’s it –I now have all my accessories to hand, all round my neck. But I think it all looks a bit stupid-a bit dude-ish perhaps? Is it all necessary? What on- river bits do you guys have to hand and how do you hang them?

Amadou patch and monomaster on one retractable clip, snips on another and forceps clipped to the waistcoat. Gink hangin from the final clip, dont bother with leeda sink as it never seems to make thin tippets sink anyway

Ooh, dunno, about 8" and too the right...........

Personally, I dont like anything hanging and dangling around my neck Far prefer a vest or chest pack with a few essentials clipped on such as snips and pliers.

Regards

Ben

Thumbs down Save your money!

These things were 'invented' for "Orvis Boy," and .. Ah hell, I'll spare your time ... a COMPLETE waste of time.

Do you have a pocket in your shirt/coat? That's all you really need unless you're on a several day 'expedition' down into the depths of a river like the Rogue here in So. Oregon.

Day trips? ... Insert the UK version of a 'Rude Noise.'

Vest for me with plenty of pockets, the only danglies are forcepts, scizzors and snips which are all tucked away but ready to hand.
It's bad enough having flyline all over the place without danglies to get it caught on.

The trouble with exposed, dangling items is they get in the way when you are on your tummy, creeping into position when stalking fish. Better by far to have everything tucked safely into side pockets or in a bag.
