Smile Fishing in West Wales

Hello There!

I'm lucky enough to have just moved near to the lovely town of Carmarthen in West Wales. Does anyone have any advice on which club or clubs I should consider joining. I am mainly a still water angler but the river fishing is supposed to be quite good down here I thought I may give it a go this year!!

I'd appreciate any advice as I really don't know where to start!!

Many Thanks

Try Googling, angling clubs and associations in west Wales? There are lots! Some are closed shop clubs (There's a waiting list) and others may accept new members? your surrounded with some excellent fishing : The Tawe and Teifi, some smaller rivers and streams, there are a few reservoirs in your area also! Lampeter - Llandovery are a couple of good areas! You have some of the best fishing in the country, right close to your door step.

Possibly see you at the Welsh Fly Fair?

Not sure about clubs in carmarthen but Stillwaters you have loads including (as has been mentioned) Garnffrwd (Nr Drefach and Porthyrhyd) which is a cracking fishery, Pant Y bedw (Nantgaredig), Whitehousemill, Troed Y Bryn, Shimano Felindre (Swansea) etc etc also reservoirs such as Llys Y Fran. Best sea trout river in Britain in the Towy, also Teifi, Loughor, Tawe and Neath amongst others.

You will be spoilt for choice locally and if you go slightly further you will also have access to The Brecon Beacons Reservoirs and Elan Valley Reservoirs, Teifi Pools etc etc.
