Default So what's so wrong with being a tackle tart?

Having had to re-kit myself from scratch, I'm a walking advertisment for bargain basement tackle and diy (video boxes for flies, cat litter for degreasing etc)
But I WANT the aviator polaroids, the £500 fly weskit, the designer labels and one of those cute necklacy things.
And when I walk past that snot nosed kid pulling out fish after fish on his dad's hand me down rod, I can nod condescendingly to him with a "not bad, son" and he'll gaze wistfully after me and think "there goes a REAL fisherman".
I might not be able to catch fish, but I bet I could strut that stuff.

You only describe stage one tackle tarts. This later develops into only pre war (choose your war) tackle and silly old hats, tatty old jackets with baggy pockets and holes, silk lines . . . . . whatever floats your boat . . .

So I'm told . . . . .

That Brian is very true, retro gear and daft hats are appearing all over the place at casa trout.
Funny how you go full circle, and then yearn the things you once wouldn't be seen dead with.

You Ben are a bad man, funny, but bad. and you Brian, me walk on, can't even stand up in.
I remember a few years back on the local news, hearing a story that Barbours had a break in at the factory, where wax cotton jackets were made and repaired.
The theives specifically targeted the repaired jackets, it was thought they would command a higher price, as the yuppies wanted the lived in look, rather than the shop dummy look.

Wonder if the "Stick Man" made his wading staff? He could be the new Fagin in Oliver on the west end! A gentleman with true Character in his face! But it saddened me to see the photo! There but for!!

I'm a tackle tart according to my fishing buddies.

Quite often they ask me, which of my Make-up bags will I be bringing. Just because I like Fishpond bags
