Thumbs up Catching the impossible T.V. Series

Has anyone else been watching this series? I think it's the best fishing T.V. i've ever seen. Just watched Martin Bowler catch a huge (15lb+) Barbel from the Ouse. The filming of the Barbel ignoring his hookbait whilst hoovering up every free offering around it, was simply amazing!

What about that 5lb Perch aswell.....the biggest big fish of all!!!

Not a huge amount of fly fishing but good to see some propper angling back on our screens!

My dear wife bought me the box set for christmas, and it's superb, overall. the filming, as said above is amazing, and it's truly incredible how they catch impossible fish after imposible fish. there's a gret scene as a 32lb pike slowly surfaces like some type of crocodile, and the 5lb perch already mentioned has t be the icing on the cake!

great series.

I think I agree with the assessment on some of the coarse fishing boards;

"Very good and watchable, but perhaps falls a fraction short of A Passion For Angling".
The repeats are on Discovery Shed.

One slight issue I had watching the series on Channel 4 HD in its first showing last summer was that the program kept pixellating and stopping....only on HD, not ordinary C4. Annoying.

Alex you are a lucky man - was that the full monty box set with 400 page coffee table book ? I have thought about it, but the price seems a teeny bit fierce (although I suppose you wouldn't know ). Is it worth flashing the plastic ?

A brilliant series.
I gather that Matt Hayes is filming as we speak. According to the pundits this series will rival anything that has gone before - a tall order. Can't wait if it's going to be that good (and the telly bods go for it).............birdsnest

IMO better than Passion for Angling, an absolutely brilliant series, and when the price comes down I am buying the box set

Brilliant angler - held two UK records at one time and as well as the stunning barbel and perch mentioned he caught a crucian on camera that would have made the UK Top 5 (he holds the record) and one of the other anglers got a 3lb 5oz roach and a 7lb + chub - every one a fish of a lifetime!!

I believe he also got a 30lb plus pike from the Wye shortly after filming this series.

I too would be keen to watch Matt Hayes' new series as he is also a top drawer angler.

I don't have sky, but I caught a few episodes at my daughters over Christmas.
It was very nicely done.
