Default Cha nging centre pin reels from right to left?

I have a JW Young & Son 1540 centre pin reel and I would like to change it from right handed to left handed.

Does anybody know how I go about changing it?

Regards,

Ray.

Does it need changing Ray?, I thought they would work either handed, no drag as such is there.

As Mr Trout says, if there's no drag just turn it to face the other way. Some may have a line guard that will need repositioning, usually by the removal of a couple of screws and relocating.

Edit - The 1540 isn't a centre pin is it? It's a 4.25" Salmon Fly Reel with a simple single pawl click drag. Remove the spool and on the back plate you'll probably find two roughly triangular pieces of metal secured by a flat spring. One will be engaged - disengage it and engage the one on the other side.
