Excellent new book by Dennis Moss
Found in my local library yesterday, brand spanking new and unread, I devoured Dennis Moss’ new book ‘Irish Rise – Reflections by Lough & Stream’ (Quiller Publishing) last night.
The guy (a founder of Wychwood Tackle) seems to have devoted his retirement to the angling connoisseur’s challenge of pursuing large wild brownies with fly from the big Irish Loughs, and amongst other things has discovered that dries outfish wets when it comes to larger fish, that bank fishing on these huge waters can deliver, and that minimalism in fly design works well.
This isn't on the face of it a how-to book, but there's some seriously useful stuff in it. Nicely written by an intelligent angler, I'd highly recommend it for those who love their wild brownie fishing.
Best wishes to everyone for 2011
