Default Sourcing Thin Neoprene Gloves

Hi All, After the terrible weather conditions we have experienced here, over the past few months, Iv'e decided to go for Neoprene Gloves.

I am currently sourcing some items in China and some thin Neoprene sheets in the UK and US.

Most gloves are 2mm or more, but I want 0.5mm or 1mm. If anyone has any info regarding these and would pass the info on, then that would be fantastic.

Iv'e run this post on the North American forums too, for greater coverage. You can follow this via the link.

Best Regards

Stuart

I dare say you can get thin neoprene such as the stuff which is used for cuffs on breathable jackets. But I'm Not sure whether that's actually neoprene, probably more a lycra based material in the thinner versions.

I don't know if gloves made out of neoprene so thin ( even if you can get it, remember it's laminated ) would be any better than say silk, wool or fleece lined gore-tex type gloves though ?

I have neoprene fishing gloves made out of maybe 2mm material but they are better suited to spinning or sea fishing as opposed to fly fishing. TBH, I never actually use them 'cause I feel they're more of a help than a hinderance when rod fishing.

Snowbee do a lighweight neoprene glove at around £10. I reckon this is the closest you'll get to your needs.

Neil at Anderson angling / Wellbank Lochans who posts on here supplies them. He might be able to advise better.

Thanks lads, Iv'e some e-mails from the US and am currently waiting for replies from China.

There are some samples en-route from the US, which will take time to get here, but I'll keep you posted.

Best Regards

Stuart

I don't have these but it would be good to get any reviews:

Snowbee SFT Neoprene Gloves | Buy Online at AtkinsAngling.com

These are 1mm neoprene.

I have just ordered so will post a review.

Hi I bought both the Smowbee gloves the finger less version are good. I will try them in the field this weekend, but they are long and fit well. Both hands have fingers missing.

I am not keen on the SFT Neoprene. They come up very very small and exceptionally tight. But they are not that flexibe and the cuffs are short. seemed like good under gloves for somebody who does work out in the cold.I'll be sending these back.

Default Just tried what could be "the glove"

Hi All, Today I received a pair of Neoprene Rogue Gloves from NRS Web, who are in Moscow in the US.

These 2mm gloves provide a good level of insulation, with splash guards at the wrist which are quite tight fitting.

Fully waterproof with a palm grip and some level of feel, which is what Iv'e been chasing all along.

Iv'e tried these out today at Ellerdine on a really cold Shropshire day and caught four fish. So they don't hinder your catching abilities, but do retain a level of insulation from the cold.

I'll post more info on these, as I use them, but for now, I'll leave the link so you can view them from the NRS site and see what else they have.

Best regards

Stuart

Try waterproof golfing gloves. Thin, breathable, reasonably warm with excellent grip. Sometimes they're sold in pairs for the same hand, so why not buy another set in the opposite hand and you'll have two pair to last all year.
