Default A fisherman's journey

Do any readers know whether the rivers Roding or Stort in Essex hold trout in their upper reaches, and if so, how the beats might be accessed?

Tony

What a great thing to do; I'm jealous!
Middlesex; Syon Park and Halliford Mere. Are they in Middlesex?
Essex; Thornwood near Epping, Norton and Chigboro (Not sure on Norton)
Cambridgeshire; What county is Grafham in? Not sure. I also remember a web site for a place called Earith Lakes but again not sure if in the correct county.
Please excuse me if my internal nav's gone wrong, but off the top of my head these may be correct.
Just remembered Hanningfield for Essex.
Cheers and good luck,
Del.

Aaggghhhhhh! I do believe you are correct Jim!
Apologies from the dim bloke. Well, if anyone wants to do the same for still waters, here's a start for Middx, Essex and Cambs.
Rivers in those counties? Not a scooby.
Sorry....

Your quite welcome to come to Cornwall but please don't count us as an English county. Good luck on your quest.

Hi Tony,

Lovely idea!

I think the Cam (or Granta as it's known at the upper end) might solve both Cambs and Essex. It has wild brown trout from around Sawston going upstream. Getting access can be challenging, though there are a few free patches.

If you're looking for Lincs, I may also be able to help - give PM if you need.

Matt

Nice idea Tony... and an interesting blog too. If only we'd known earlier... could've shown you a proper Herefordshire trout stream;-)
