Default Quick Question

Just had a look through my materials and found 2 that I do not know what they are for so any help on these would be great, Polyband and Filamants, could anyone telll me what these are for. Enjoy your cold turkey sandwiches . . . Jack . . .

Jack, "Poly-band" was marketed by Veniard's quite a few years ago, it was basically a stretched form of a polythene type material that was used for forming bodies & ribs on nymphs & small fry imitations.

There are dozens of assorted filaments on the market, so without a picture it's impossible to tell. Generally "filaments" are used for tails & sometimes the trailing fibres on salmon fly patterns like the Francis fly.

If you post this sort of enquiry in the fly tying section, you will probably get a faster response.

Ok fine thanks so the polly is just another body building stuff really I see, and if I say basicaly tails and trailing fibres for the Filaments I am not far off, ok great just nice to have some idea what some of the materials I have are for. Thankx . Jack . . .
