Default Aquarius rods

Dave
If you want to buy a hand built trout , salmon or sea trout rod look no further than contacting Martin Cloke of:
Aquarius fishing tackle
Perth
Scotland.

Ive been fishing for over 30 years and have 4 of these rods and have tryed all other rods on the market and nothing comes close.

Pricewise they dont break the bank they are around £250, all rods are hand made to your specification , have your name personalised on the butt and come with a good quality rod tube.

Check out Martins website: Google Aquariusfishing tackle

Regards

The Z Axis is a lovely rod, but think you might be better with a 6 or 7 weight if it's for Trout and Sea Trout. You want something that can chuck bigger flies and be able to bring in bigger fish without too much trouble.

Cheers Diarmid.

I am not sure where you are fishing but i would want something a little heavier for sea trout fishing.
I fished the Spey last year with a 9ft 6wt which is a great rod but i felt a little under gunned
i dont think a 7wt would be better.

Aye, a 5wt might be a tad cruel, i use a 7wt xp 10ft or 11ft grxi 6/7 (which is a 7 in my opinion)
As previously mentioned a 5wt might struggle with big flees (if you use them)
i frequently use hairwings tied on salmon irons a 5wt would struggle with thees against a wind
I have a 9wt for use on some of the bigger rivers, also for use where there is a good chance of connecting with a salmon

As the old saying goes...people fish flees too wee for sea trout and too big for salmon
