Default Favourite flies

Hark all stillwater and lough fishers,im starting a thread on members favourite flies,i suppose we all have more flies than we will ever fish.Ill start the ball rolling;
Top dropper.....Claret dabbler
Middle dropper....Wickams fancy or sooty olive
Point fly.....Silver invicta

Over the years this combination has bee good to me

Hey Jemo i would divide that into wet and dry.

Wet: 1 - Sooty Olive (would not even think of going wet fly fishing without it) 2 - Golden olive bumble 3 - Red Arsed Peter (just slightly beats the claret dabbler).

Dry (really depends upon what is hatching at the time) But the Grey Duster is THE man! for general use. Great for olives and dry buzzers.

For dry sedges - small brown sedge with fox squirrel wing fly rite dubbing body and ginger hackle - truly unbeatable..............
For dry mayflies a CDC mayfly is brill.......................

1..klink
2..cdc
3..small red sedge

For my dries 1 black gnat ( for dibbling and stalking )
2 f fly ( doubles as an indicator )
3 foam beetle

For my wets 1 kate maclaren
2 red diawl bach
3 black and peacock spider
