Default Beautiful man, really beautiful.

Beauty they say, is in the eye of the beholder but I was wondering where you think is the most beautiful place in the world?
I don't necessarily mean your favourite place but the most beautiful. I'm sure we all have different ideas of beauty (trying not to look at Mrs. Reg asleep on the couch whilst typing this) but what is yours?
I have been lucky enough to travel a lot and mine is Milford Sound on the South Island of New Zealand. (just beating Yellowstone)
No bickering or pointless argueing boys and girls just beauty. It's christmas time, peace and love. Beautiful.
Think my teenage son's been tampering with my Golden Virginia again.

The Patagonian Andes have a stark beauty; Mount Fitzroy named to honour Robert Fitzroy, HMS Beagle's captain.

Western Uganda, shore of Lake Edward. Looking West - lake then forested escarpment rising up deep into the Congo. Looking North, Ruwenzori mountains (Mtns of the Moon) rearing up to snow clad peaks on the equator. All around, elephants, buffalo, hyenas, hippo etc. Whole scene gets lit up every sunset.

Spent 3 years there, nearly got killed countless times, but every time I shut my eyes, I'm back.

Biggest regret: lake full of fish, most of which unknown, or barely known to science (mate of mine found 3 new species in an afternoon going through nets at local village landing beach), and never once cast a line. Would go back like a shot!

Eph, I would dearly love to fish that small stream.

Daft as it sounds, I find a summers evening fishing on Ullswater very hard to beat.

That's a lovely part of the world, I climbed that fall on Lake Louise about 6 winters ago. Also agree regarding Patagonia, stunning place also.

However, the place that stands out for me currently are the Central Alps of Japan and Hokkaido. Although I have a long running obsession with going to Norway and the Arctic.

For me of all the many places I have been to it has to be sitting on the back of a house boat looking across Dal Lake at the Karakorams ....... just this mirror lake with water lillies every where. Stunning.

Default Low Tide on Turnagain Arm, Cook Inlet AK.

I took a walk this year and this was one of the views that I came onto. I've seen a lot of pretty places and this is one of them.
