There is no mention of the Davy knot on the list, is it a single uni knot ? I use this all the time with 2 or 3 turns .

Default Needle Knot Illustrations

The illustration of the needle knot gives a somewhat restricted way of achieving it. It relies on using thin enough monofilament to be able to thread it doubled with the eye of a needle through the core of the flyline.

The great advantage that a needle knot brings to the leader is that it can be made with thick monofilament and so maintain stiffness at the join between the flyline and the leader. The method shown is not suitable for using thick monofilament.

An alternative and very effective method is illustrated here.

It's a damn good knot too. For years the Grinner knot was the only way for me but having been taught how to tie it by the video and having tested it, it is remarkable. It is stronger than the grinner according to my scales by more than 10%!

I will be putting it to the test as soon as I can get at the water again...

Amazing!
