Default Shakespeare expedition 8ft 5/6

Has anybody tried this rod? If so could you give me your opinion?
I noticed that John Norris has these on sale right now.
I'm looking for something that will fit in a rucksack
This would be mainly for fishing the river Teign and Dart next spring on a camping tour I'm planning with some friends.

I have a Shakespear Expedition 9ft 6/7 wt. Caught a 20 lb common carp on the fly this summer.First Carp on the fly ! It fought like a demon for 15 minutes and put bends in the rod you wouldn't believe ! Excellent rod IMHO.

I bought the 7ft 6, the 9ft, the 10ft Shakespeare Trions , and the expedition rod from John Norris and reckon that they are cracking value , and with the line thrown in, you're getting a rod for for a tenner. What have you got to loose?

(The ten foot, which I bought mainly for pike, is pretty stiff actioned, though)

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to make the purchase. As long as it
lasts for the trip it will be worth it at the price they have it now.

Hi just type in a search for the Shakespeare Odyssey the cheapest in the range and see the glowing reports on the rods, you just can't go wrong, I have too many rods to consider buying one but I am sorely tempted the free fly lines also have a very good reputation. BUY
