So I wondered if any of you have particular childish favourites? I remember giggling when a friend suggested that "Connecting with a thick-lipped mullet will leave you trembling" explained how Mick Jagger is so successful with the ladies .

Then I thought on about the whole sexed up headline/prose style. It's mental! You'd think we were engaging in a high risk adventure sport like base jumping, downhill mountain biking or some such. In fact most of the magazines for those sports are reserved compared to the style in some of our media. You'd think catching a 4-5lb fish was like f**king (pardon me) while in a plane crash. Now I love fly-fishing and so do all the guys and gals I see out and about... but seriously look at your boat partner when they light up after catching a fish. It's more chilled out than blissed out isn't it?

Anyway I'm looking forward to your suggestions for over the top headlines and bad puns and your opinions of the new wave prose style.

Reading this reminds me of a feature i agread to do many years ago for a coarse fishing monthly . I had had some success match fishing on a lake in Redditch for carp. I happened to mention during the feature that i used ground peanuts as a part of my groundbait mix. You could almost see the reporters brain making connections --Peanuts--nuts!! Yes the title of the feature,you have probably guessed -- " This blokes a nutter "
