Post Marking Fly Lines for 'The Hang'

This may have been covered previously, but I can't find it. Anyone have good advice for putting indicator marks onto sinking lines to allow effective use of the Hang tactic?

Dave.

Whip the marker on with tying thread around 20 foot from the end, superglue into place and cover with varnish.

Default Markers

I do all mine with fluorescent floss, whipped on at 10' intervals, either 3 or 4, obviously in different colours. I then coat each whipping with Zap a Gap glue. They seem to have worked pretty well for me and have increased my catch rate no end.

Default Use a whipped marker

Hi, I use a whipped marker at the length of the rod, ie mine is 10ft. If you use the whipped thread and cover this with varnish, you'll hear it coming through the rings, as it hits the tip ring.

Once it does this, you know your at your hang point, or close to it.

Hope this helps

Best regards

Stuart

I believe that Airflo's next lines will have a "hang marker" on them. I do like the floss or thread though as you can feel it pass the tip ring.
