Default Prescription polarised specs

Hi All
Seems i need new specs - no wonder i've been catching so many of those tricky wee tree troot recently... Anyway, just wondering if any one can reccomend a supplier online, as i've no intention of paying those high street highwaymen the kind of price i've been quoted (£600 mark)
cheers grey

Grey,

Easy solution. Get a pair of Cocoon polarized glasses, designed to fit over your specs. Comfortable, excellent lenses etc, available at many tackle dealers and cost about GBP 30/-

http://www.cocoonseyewear.com/ look at the glasses and then do a dealer search on their site.

Superb glasses ! Recommend the Amber lenses although Yellow lens is reputed to be good in low contrast situations.

Nigel

p.s. My wife who also wears glasses keeps trying to pinch my Cocoons! LOL

Depends on your prescription and to some extent your willingness to gamble - If you have a difficult prescription with heavy astigmatism and/or big differences between the eyes. I'd go with a good local optician.

I use Zennioptical who can do decent polarized varifocals for about £75 delivered.

I can recommend Optilabs they are great.
They have made a huge difference to my fishing i would not mess about with polaroids that go over your glasses.
Too much hassel for me.

They are doing £20 for christmas.

Optilabsrescription sports glasses & sunglasses specialists

All depends on what type of vision you have!
If you only need specs to tie on flies and knots, dont bother with prescription polarized specs.
You wont be able to use them for middle to long distances.
If you need specs for middle distance to long distance then can be worth while!
Try some of the shops that do new pair plus one free if that is case.
They will do polarised as one free!

Another recommendation for Optilabs. I use them for sight fishing, so need a decent quality. I have a yellowish lensed pair for dull conditions and tobacco foe bright conditions and I've been using both pairs without damage for about 6 years at least.

Much as I hate to promote Tescos, I got two pairs of glasses, one of them polarised, for £160ish a couple of months ago from my local store. It will depend on your prescription though. Worth a look.

I use Bi focal Polaroid from : Eye Special Eye's They are wonderful for tying flies on - or creating droppers with monofil; and no need to remove them while fishing. They cost about £19, + postage.

But do you need specs on to see the fly on the water Mostyn?
I wear normal bifocals, with reactolite lenses, they are OK, but when I renew them shortly, I want bifocals again, but one pair with a permanent polaroid lense, and one in clear glass.
I need them to both tie a fly on, and see the fly after I have cast.
I use them for driving as well, but I am starting to find oncoming headlights a real pain, so much so, it has almost stopped me night driving.
