Default Various forums

I spend quite a bit of time on various forums, but this forum is without doubt the slowest one I have encountered, I believe the reason for that is it's size, one must admit, it is a huge forum, I only view probably 20% of it's contents, I find the rest is a waste of space, I believe most other members do, this is only my opinion so please don't start boll***ing me, I am gradually giving it a wide berth, shame really !!!
I'm only here now because it's snowing, otherwise I would probably be afishing.

I only occasionally find it to be slow, most of the time it's OK.
The size of the site may well mean that it is not the fastest, but surely the bigger the forum, the more information is available from a larger pool of people.
The whole point of any forum, (for me at least) is the wealth of information and advice which can be gleaned from it.I am very grateful for the info I have received.
I have learned a huge amount on here from asking specific questions, and from reading older posts, and if it's size is making it a bit slower, then it's a price I am prepared to pay. Smaller forum = less info. Sort of defeats the object to me.

Cheers,
Gary

without wishing to come across as abrassive, just keep giving it a wide berth. No point in keeping logging in if it makes you unhappy, lifes too short to waste valuable seconds

You will find it quicker if you get rid of the adverts

Probably one of the things that slows it down is the number of people viewing the forum who rarely, if ever, contribute anything. Seems to be a very high lurker:contributer ratio on here sometimes!

Artic Wolf suggested clearing your cache to speed it up, worked for me.

Also try Firefox AdBlock and get rid of everything thats not essential. I got rid of the title banner.

That's the best bit of advice I've had in a long time, I'll take you up on that. life is short and particularly in my case, at least the rest of it. Thanks a million.......
