I watched it for the first time this series only because he was in Japan. And he was his usual condescending and irritating self and spent most of the time taking the p#ss out of his hosts.
He also displayed impeccable fish handling techniques with the Ayu.

He's undoubtedly one of the most annoying people on TV at the moment, right up there with Louis Walsh, Simon Cowell and Gillian McKeith.
But I like the show for the different fish it features (what about the eyes on that oil fish??! Wow!!) and the amazing environments.
I feel sorry for the poor local guides who have to accompany him, what with all the cussing, the patronising and the ridiculous, over-the-top reactions when 'he' catches his first (insert species here).
It's best watched with the sound down.

I think we have all learned to turn the sound down !
But what about River Monsters , its target audience must be 8 year olds .

At least he was among like minded people to himself, all intent on killing every living thing in the seas, even if they are poisonous, more so than Mr Robson even, why would you even contemplate finding the odd morsel of edible flesh in an otherwise deadly fish????Bizarre!
