What is the most idiotic rule that you have seen in any UK angling context?

My vote is for the IQ-Challenged members of one Association who felt the need to convene a meeting, hold a discussion and ultimately BAN THEMSELVES FROM USING EXPLOSIVES !!!!
(a source can be supplied if required)

And these guys are allowed to play with sharp objects !! I wouldn't trust them with round edged scissors!

The caveat to the above rule by which the Klinkhamer is not a "dry fly".

Clubs that won't allow women to fish with a clear ruling "No Boobies". Nothing like turning away 50% of the population.

I know a bunch who were more overt with their sexism who wrote "Under 16s can fish for free as long as they are with their fathers. An under 16 who does not have a father who fishes can buy a permit for £5."

By coincidence they happen to be the same bunch of self-restraining bombers that I mentioned in the opening post !

It took a letter from The Council to make them realise how ignorant of modern society they really were.

i think the madness of all the rules surrounding river fishing in particular are why most people get put off, i mean i was lookin into joining a club and just on one stretch there was about 4-5 different time zones you are allowed to fish on certain parts of the bank i mean cumon wtf is that about. needless to say i didnt bother....
