Default Sundays

The law states that fishing for migratory fish – salmon and sea trout – is prohibited on Sundays in Scotland. It is perfectly legal to fish for "lesser" fish on a Sunday.

Isn't it time that anglers petitioned the Scottish Parliament and got this idiotic law abolished?

OK. Good idea.

If you believe that those that hold the lease of Salmon Fishings should determine which period of 24 hrs per week should be alloted to the Weekly Close Time then sign the petition below:

No to the ban on Sunday Salmon Fishing Petition

With all of the reports a few years ago showing a significant decline in returning numbers of salmon and possibly sea trout I personally would like to see a ban fishing for these for a few years to try and get the returning numbers back up. You can but dream.

I believe "having a day of rest" for the river is no bad thing. Remember ghillies should have at least a day off to.
Would suit me better if the day off was a weekday though.
