Default HELP! - posting a long rod

I sold a 2 peice rod on ebay recently and am having problems finding a courier which will take it.
DHL, Parcel force et al won't take it - it's for a rod tube which is approx 1.6m
Has anyone got anyone they'd recommend?

Bri

Try Interlink Bri, may cost a touch more, but I think they will take tubes over 1.6m.

The post office offer a parcel force delivery service which i use quite a lot. This is normally used when a rod is over 1 metre (post office limit) so they pass it on to parcel force. Its not that expensive either

Take it for a quote and see what they say

Hope this helps

I am sure that someone told me that UPS have different length restrictions... Saying that I have sent longer than that with parcelforce , sounds like you have a jobsworth there...

thanks for the replies.
Looks like she's got someone to take the rod for about £10 (interparcel or something?)

Anyway, crisis over...

I used the Post Office for over 20 years - very few problems - then they suicidally changed the rules and now you'll have a serious job conning any Post Office into taking anything much longer than 1.25m -

I use a Courier these days - who links into FedEx . They are pretty good and Nextday for a whopping £11.75 .

I have also used the Courier Account of very large Tackle dealers nearby which is much cheaper as they get mega discount .

I doubt that one of them would do you a favour but somebody in a different trade might

Good Luck

I use Interparcel who are brokers for a number of couriers and I've had tubes of about 2m picked up at a very reasonable price. I was put onto them by the guy in my local Post Office who uses them himself for personal shipments. I found them cheaper than Parcel Force and Parcels2Go

Interparcel : Discount UK & International Parcel Delivery & Courier Services

To get a quote for a tube you enter the diameter of the tube in both the height and width boxes.
