Perhaps this in some way explains the current vogue for UV materials...

Hi Treetrouter, Iv'e been trialling some UV patterns, using Criag Barr UV strands. Iv'e had some very good fish take it, but even more, come up to inspect it, then turn and take my point fly.

You are right though! Definately something very interesting with UV.

Strange as mr hayes said the other day , he was using a red line and reckoned it was invisible in water "first color to become invisible in the spectrum" so why are red maggots so effective even water aint invisible most color seen from below will be black as its siluetted against the surface and sky, after that its murky water even what we see as clear aint, after a few feet its cloudy underwater, so flies have to be fairly close and the right color, size or stimulatinggaz
