the brown only stalking pool opens on saturday 13th of november-catch and return only fish in the 3 to 5.5lb range......in summertime when brownies not playing ball it will be stocked with rainbows from 5lbs and up....happy hunting

hi all-fish still moving & feeding on top when the sun has poked through...not really been fished since weekend as been a bit wet,but still chasing fry i notice...hope to put some even bigger brownies in next year! they are the best in my opinion,nothing beats catching a native!

Hi there....i moved down to watford 2 years ago and now looking to start fishing again..any help with advice on fisheries in my area would be appreciated...would it be possible for location of your brown only pool.

hi there-watford is about 30 mins away so not far really,unfortunately the essex area isnt blessed with a huge amount of fly fisheries-unlike other counties.we are featured in this months Trout Fisherman under Eastern Promise! presentlly main lake stocked with rainbows and browns,stalking pool stocked with the browns as mentioned & a 3rd lake is currently filling up...this is for larger specimens! hopefully ready for spring??!! 3 browns out today in the 3-5lb range-all personal bests to the 3 lucky fisherman! 1 of the fisherman also had a 5lb perfect condition rainbow which was also his personal best-he then followed that by hooking an 8lb+ rainbow-which he lost!!

they are the best in my opinion,nothing beats catching a native!

Perhaps the traditional closed season should apply then.
Really not comfortable with this change, and I hope it never comes to Scotland.
