Cracking shots Jim,walking the streams in search of redds and paired up trout and salmon is one of my favourite things to do if only to dream about catching them in the new season.Keep them coming Jim.

Saw lots of pairs of bright coloured browns getting jiggy on the Coln today.
Plenty of fresh cut redds as well.
Like you say, very good to see.

Cheers

Andy

I posted this on the grayling thread but cant resist adding it to this one too.
NOT as clear as Jims I am afraid, but I waited ages to to try and get an action shot and they just wouldnt perform for the camera.

It was our first day too Jim, I saw a hen last week on her side in a few places checking the gravel with a few flicks of the tail. But suddenly today there where redds appearing every where. Early for us too!

Thumbs up Great photo's folks!

This is one of my fav times of the year as we have thousands of Pacific King Salmon (others too, but these are the one's you usually see) spawning in the upper Rogue River.

But it does require that you wade very carefully if you're fishing where their "doing their thing." That clean patch of rocks/gravel river bottom could be the home for several thousand eggs.

Far too soon. I've got all my hatches onto the redds very firmly closed. They aren't going anywhere near them for at least another month.
