Default Over rated flys.....which is yours?

......I think that the Montana is the most over rated fly out there. No movement, bulky and doesn't represent anything that would be found in a british river or stillwater...........

Why use a Montana when you can use a long tailed black & green lure?

Thats my over rated fly......in my humble opinion of course..........what is yours and why?

The Montana was going to be my reply before even reading the body of your post!
I'd like to say that I've never had any luck with them, but yesterday while having a mooch around my club water I tied one on that had been sulking in the corner of my fly box for a year or so and winkled out a small brown. Still don't have much faith in them as a fly though. As I understand the pattern is based on a fly particular to the USA?

Cheers

Andy

Drake mayfly, green or whatever colour. Usually some flimsy feather wing on a #10 lure hook, underwater on the first cast every time. Take a cork to hold the bl**dy useless things on the surface.

Buzzers. I'd happily never fish one again.

Pink Shrimps (Scuds) for Grayling. For me, they just don't work

Never tried one, so really wouldn't know...

For me it's those garish shop bought Peter Ross patterns. Now they really don't work.

Most flies really but specifically buzzers - hate the things!
