Default Sheephouse Lane Trout Fishery Maidenhead

I decided to try out my new pride and joy the other week Sage Z-Axis 9' #6
Took it down to Maidenhead. I had been told about the fishery from a friend living in Maidenhead.
I must have drove past the place at least 3 times trying to find it, the vegetation had almost completley covered the signage.
Parked the car and walked up the steps of the lodge "Trout Fishery's closed"
stated a lady huddled up in front of a wood burner.Course fishing starts next week!
I left obviously looking dissapointed --- when she tapped on the window
"you can fish if you want we won't charge you" she shouted!
Are there any trout in the there I asked "yes dear there's still trout in there".
I gave it a good 3 hours but nothing besides me and a couple of ducks even moved!
I was expecting you no who from Candid Camera to appear at any moment.
So if anyone was/is thinking of giving Maidenhead a try forget it!
On a more positive note the rod performed well enough WHEN I STOPPED TRYING THAT IS!

Hi Tony.
I went to exactly the same place a couple of weeks ago looking at somewhere local to get some casting tuition, only to get the same response as you. I asked if there was any alternatives locally, and was pointed in the direction of
Felix Farm Trout Fishery | The Fishery

I've not fished it yet as I'm a complete novice and still learning the art of casting!!!!!!! But it looks very appealing, and the day ticket rates and boat rental are seem very reasonable. Defiantly worth a look.

Good luck & tight lines

Paul

Default Shouse Lane Fishery Maidenhead

Hi
Ive try'd the fishery Felix Farm its just around the corner from me.
Its cheap for a reason. They also give you coupons for your next trip at half price!
From what I can gather most people take out a boat and then use sinking lies
almost on the bottom in the middle of the lake which is where I am told the fish are.
Won't exactly improve your casting any!
I think they have had new owners or managers recently so I may look it up again in the near future IT BEING ON THE DOORSTEP!

Sh1thouse was never great at the best of times.

Never fished Felix Farm but had a look round it. Very pretty but seems hard fishing from what I hear.

Once you can cast reasonably I would strongly recommend the trip to Farmoor 1 or 2. Search on here for more info.

Thank's Charlie
Maybe a little premature for competitions.
But who knows maybe in the not too distant future.

Cheers Tony
