Default I'm not one to make mischief...

But I know some of you will be simply thrilled with the Daily Express' look ahead to the return to our screens of a certain celebrity angler:

"It’s partly because Robson is an engaging and appealingly self-deprecating companion, but also because he’s never been one to take the easy option"

I've only seen snippets of Mr Green in his fishing guise so I'm in no position to pronounce judgement but I had to wince slightly at the implicit suggestion that we are indebted to him for bringing fishing into the realms of "great television".

Someone get Chris Yates and Bob James an aspirin...

Thank you for the wonderful and welcome news, Jeff

All joking aside, this subject has been hammered to death here and on other fishing websites, to the extent of several of us complaining to Channel 4 and to the Broadcasting Standards Authority, to no avail.

So...that's one series I won't be loading into sky plus !

Watch it with the sound muted. It makes a helluva difference.

Sorry, did they say 'Appealing' and 'self-deprecating' ??

Pity, I would prefer 'self-pealing' (he likes to ring his own bell) and 'self-deficating' (he seems to cr@p his pants when he catches a tiny shark)

The man is hugely annoying and more unworthy of our screens than Tony Blair doing a Judge Judy on Iraq War Crimes

Default Robson Green....

Hi all,
As a new member here found it a bit funny reading this post as I remember filling in the online application form/questionaire for joining up...... I actually put that Robson Green would be my ideal celebrity fishing trip partner . Hope I've not blotted my copy book for the rest of my stay here!

In all fairness, I do think he's a funny chap and agree with the self-deprocating bit but he does go a bit over the top with the luvvy, fancy-dan former actoooor bit.

If for nowt else, it gets the women leaving the fishing on tv for a change - all the lasses around here seem to love him.

Regards,
Mike

That's odd, my other half believes he's a cnut, even though she doesn't use the word often.
