I was there with my son two weeks ago, beautiful setting and quite a large water.
When I got there the guy who runs it said the fish were pooled in two main areas, one opposite the hut/cafe and close to a small island, the other up toward the north end, near the weather buoy - and he was absolutely right.
We hired a boat and had a great afternoon - caught some nice rainbows in the shallows opposite the hut.
They were feeding on fry in the shallows so zonkers/minkies were the order of the day.
It cost something like £35 quid for the boat for the afternoon, fishing C&R.
The guy in charge said it wouldn't be worth us trying from the bank on that particular day, but obviously conditions will have changed and you may see some good action from the bank on your trip.
If you come in close in a boat, be prepared to get photographed by Japanese tourists stopping off for a photo op - I gave it my best 'River Runs Through It' poses!!
All in all, a highly recommended fishery - hope you have a good trip.
Steve
