Default Introducing the new Kid on the Block

I use the word Kid loosley approaching my 67th birthday due next month. It's true what they say you know, once you turn 65 you start getting younger again or was it sillier, one of the two.
I mean new to Fly Fishing well this time around anyway. I did a bit in 1960 when serving in H.M.service they posted me to Saxa Vord on the island of Unst in the Shetland Isles. This was pre North Sea Oil you understand Ah! that was a Fishermans paradise if ever I saw one! But thats another story for another day!
I've spent the past 50 years too busy working getting married getting divorced getting married getting divorced and yes getting married again.
It takes it out of you if you know what I mean.
But now I'm retired and have all the time in the world to take up Fly Fishing again. In 1960 they hadn't even thought of Carbon never mind making rod from it! I had a cane rod that was so heavy........There I go again thats another story for another day!
The point I'm trying to make is that in 50years the tackle has changed ALOT !
So if I ask one or two DAFT questions from time to time please cut me some slack
IT'S JUST THAT SILLY OLD NEW KID ON THE BLOCK
