Default Addiction.

I have just bought a 9 foot Sage TCR 8 weight from ebay.

Now i already have 7 rods between 9 and 10 feet and 7-8 weight, making this purchase completely and utterly surplus to requirements, but i just couldnt help it. I love the TCR and had one in a 7 weight a while ago so couldnt resist.

Please am i not the only one, are there others out there that just buy rods because they like them not because they need them...

There's a nice Western 3 on there too....

Blimey Alex, have you got seven arms or do you regularly break rods ?

All joking aside, I think a lot of this is down to personal preference, and it does seem that plenty of anglers these days do enjoy collecting rods and reels, almost as a parallel and linked pastime to their actual fishing. As between the pragmatist with a small collection of kit and the collector, there's no right answer.

I have only one rod between 9 and 10 feet taking a 7 weight line - it does have some companions of different lengths taking different line weights, let me say. I bought it 3 and a half years ago, and if fishing rods could write books my rod's would be a thousand pages long. .

If you really enjoy it and can keep the missus and the bank manager onside, go for it.

Mine are all sorts of prices, i got an oscar travel rod for a tenner off ebay (not tried it yet) as well as an odyssey and GRXi. the TCR was a £200 which is the most i'll spend on ebay, but seems a bargain given their new costs, hence the reason it's in my posession now. Want a Helios now...

Hi

It may be an obsession but it surely does'nt hurt anybody. If you can afford them and the wife never fnds out then go for it.
I myself have Sage RPL 10ft for 7 weight, TCR x2 both 10ft for 7 weight, Sage XP 10ft for 6 weight, Z axis 10ft for 7 weight, G Loomis GLX distance 10ft for 7weight, Orvis 9foot six for 6 weight.
I also have 3 loop reels, hardy demon and Greys G tec.
That does mean I have AN OBSESSION ?

Regards
