IMO buy a good tapered leader and tye your own droppers. I use Rio's tapered leaders and then rio powerflex or fluroflex tippet. I then join the leader to the tippet using a surgeons knot. Its a simple and very effective knot to join two pieces of tippet material together. And you can create a dropper by simply leaving one of the tabs at the desired length to form your dropper. I have only just started using droppers but this works for me

Yes, you need to buy tapered leaders with droppers and they are available from any decent on-line tackle stockist or a decent local tackle shop. You would normally get two droppers allowing you to fish with three flies in total and of course you don't need to use them both if you want to start with two flies. In time you can progress to making your own.

Something like this:

Leeda do a vast selection of casts, with or without droppers, is called the profil range, is packaged in red, with profil across top. Have two droppers or none, and loop is colour coded to breaking strain.
Most tackle shops will have them, but can be got on line as well.

I tend to tie different weights of nylon together using a water knot. This is a good demonstration (
) but it's not only for attaching a short length to the main line, you can use it to join two lines.

In lochs I tend to have a 5 or 6lb line nearest the rod going down to 4lb and sometimes 3lb - that way if your hooks are snagged and you end up breaking the line there's a chance you'll get at least some of your flies back.

Rather than buy a tapered leader I'd rather have three short spools of different weight nylon.

NB. If you are used to casting tight loops with your single fly, you may also need to alter your casting somewhat with a team of flies, as you will need to cast a more open loop so as to avoid tangles. Not the easiest thing to do in windy conditions!
