Default Where on the Teviot is this ?

I`d love to see this area of the Teviot in all its glory, anyone got an idea what section this may be?

Dunno - but there is similar vegetation on the north bank between Ancrum and Mounthooly.

I fished a beat on the Teviot that looks very similar to your picture. It was called "The Beeches" - for obvious reasons! I can't think of the name but it was almost directly opposite the Teviot Smokery. I was fishing with Hamish Wilson who used to run the smokery and water gardens. A smashing bloke who very sadly is no longer with us.
I think it's that beat but not 100%.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, that's a picture by Matt Harris and I contacted him to buy a proper copy, so you could always ask him.

I didn't buy the pic

Looks vaguely like the beat on this webcam. As it is dark just now it is difficult to compare

The picture has been enhanced though to make the reds stronger.

Thanks for your help folks, some good pointers there, so places to check out are Ancrum and the Smoke house, looks like I will have an enjoyable day in the borders, I would imagine its a blaze of colour just now.

Thanks

Lovely picture, and nice that the angler coordinated with his choice of fleece and flyline.

I checked the webcam. It looks like he is casting from the point behind the green tree left of centre.

Difficult to say. A wider shot would have helped. It could be anywhere on the Teviot. It even reminds me of a stretch of the Tweed I fish. At this time of year the Beech trees leaves turn that vivid colour all over the borders.

Lovely time of the year visually though. And a super photo. Just sad that it is the end of another Trout season.

David.
