Default can anyone help?

I have a Loomis GLX that's about 6 years old. a while ago, i lost the tip section of the rod at Grafham water and watched aghast as it fell over the edge of the boat and into the water.

I know Loomis have some warranty, but not for lost tip sections, and when i've tried to call the concessionary at Shimano it's not been helpful, customer focussed etc and it looks like i'm stuck.

My question is, does anyone on this forum have the expertise to make a tip section for this rod for me? Obviously i'd send the rod to you, and pay you for the work. The rod is somewhat sentimental to me as i paid for it with some money i inherited from my late mother. As such, i would love to be able to use it again.

If it can't be done, it can't be done, but i'm not overly keen about sending to Loomis only to get into a fight with them (and still pay the warranty cost, i'd far rather pay a craftsman to do it?)

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Alex

Thanks, just given them a bell, but they can't do it sadly. very friendly though and helped as much as he could.

Is David Norwich on here?

Cheers for the help so far.

You have to go through shimano and to be honest, they were totally disinterested when i spoke to them. About as much use as trying to splint a broken leg with a tongue depressor.

I've just done one fairly similar using Harrison's.

Took a while for Mick Helliwell to get the section done but wasn't massively expensive and they actually matched the finish !

If David can't , let me know and I'll twist an arm

Best wishes
