Default Rockbourne Smoked Trout

:Rockbourne have a new manager now, so we should see some some changes. Had a enjoyable day, caught three fish wt about 3lbs each. Decided to swap for Smoked Trout, some other chaps were doing the same, never tried it before, but was assured its delicious.
About 10 were fishing,I think all caught fish, looking forward to my next trip.

Dorsetfly - thanks for the news. Has there been any change in the clarity of the water in the lakes? Last time I went the change from the usual clear to now cloudy/ opaque was what struck me most.

Which lakes and what flies worked for you?

Full page advert from Rockbourne, including a 5% discount voucher, in the Salmon & Trout Association magazine that arrived with me yesterday. So they are trying hard. I'd still like to be reassured about water quality and the clearance of grossly excessive bankside growth before parting with any more hard earned wedge there.

It is still a little pricey at 5% off; until the water quality/ clarity improves, stalking trout will be highly problematic.

The water clarity I find depends on how much rain there has been. Leaves on some of the lakes can be a problem. I caught two in Alder, & one in Bridge.
I was using a Damsel fly,on a sink tip line.I cast over a weed bed and jerk it back.
I dont do stalking ,to me its like fishing in your pond at home, but it can be very productive.
