I've been once. It used to be known as Loveclough. I think it must have just been stocked when I went one wet and windy Summer evening. I had nine, all about one to one and a half pound to suspender buzzers and blobs. I went because a mate was having his first go at fly fishing. He had two or three I think.

I was there last weekend.

It has its good days when the fish are feeding but it’s a sod when they are not. Its 35 feet deep in parts witch is a lot when it’s only a one acre pond.

The good bit is if you’re looking at a blank by the end of your session you can walk round to nursery corner and cast into the middle of waiting fish (they collect by the spring that feeds the water). Sometimes I would swear that only one fish is in the pond and just pops its head up now and then to fool you.

If it’s cold or sunny be prepared to strip deep and fast. It has some very good five to six pounders in fantastic condition if you can find one.

I had a quick three on Saturday all around the two pound mark......... and yes you guessed it all from 'nursery corner' after a four hour session on the open water...........

It’s true that if it’s not windy in the rest of Rossendale it will be on Hillside and if it’s windy in the valley don’t take a loose coat you could end up in Skipton.

Great practice for casting in the wind.........................

Windy, huh? I suppose I had better learn the double haul.

Thanks for the information. May give it a try - probably at Nursery corner
