Thanks, Guideline
A couple of weeks ago, in a post under the heading Worthless Warranties?, I reported that a leading retailer had told me that it would cost £40 to get a replacement for a broken section of my lovely little Guideline Le Cie 4wt. This charge, I was told, was to cover handling and shipping, and prompted me to question the value of warranties on such rods.
On the off chance, I subsequently e-mailed Guideline in Sweden, who asked me to return the break for their inspection, and today I received a replacement section, entirely free of charge.
This is first-class service in anybody's book, and should serve as an example to other manufacturers who insist on charging for "warranty" repairs and replacements.
My thanks to Guideline, and my apologies for suggesting that their warranty might not be all that is appears to be.
