Default County Teams

Why is it that there are no county teams in fly fishing? like there are in darts, pool, bowls, cricket, rugby etc.
I know us Cornishmen could easily beat the Devon lads and we would enjoy doing it but are we good enough for Somerset?.
Joking apart I just wondered why there are no inter-county matches or leagues in our sport.
Perhaps it could be the lack of a governing body to over-see it.

Default Devon Flyfishers

Hi Mike'
It was good to see you yesterday and see that you are now getting around and getting some fishing in after your accident. It would seem that the Cornish men are not too good on motor bikes, even when they are little ones http://www.flyforums.co.uk/images/smilies/biggrin.gif.
As to beating the Devon lads at flyfishing I think that we gave you the answer yesterday at the Vranch House Final at Temple. Devon, first, second and the biggest fish on a Cornish water http://www.flyforums.co.uk/images/smilies/whistle.gif.
I would be very happy to organize a match at Kennick next year if you could field a good enough team
Bill

Now Bill I am fairly sure that it was a true Cornishman that hobbled off with the trophy for best angler, I could be wrong but thats what it says on the trophy sitting on my shelf.
Congratulations to you on the biggest fish though! and good luck for next Sunday.
I thought it was hard fishing but fair for all.
And yes please we would love to come up and give you a lesson on your own water next year.

Sounds like a challenge to me Bill.
Floating lines and dry flies at dawn?
Cheers
