Default Looking for a Hotel in or around Bakewell

For sometime soon for Mrs loopy and me something with a bar but not the Peacock. Nothing against the Peacock but looking for another for a bit of variety.

Three or four star B&B.

Suggestions welcome.

Expext there is a section for this somwhere here like Fishing Hotels or something or other.

I used to stay in digs at the Manners Hotel heading out of the town on the A6 toward Rowsley. Nice pub b&b.

I've eaten at The Square Restaurant - - Rutland Arms Hotel and it was very nice.
I think 2 nights will set you back £300 or so.

Eaten here but never stayed, it was featured on the Hotel Inspector...

The Peacock- ah yes! 2 pints of beer and two small soft drinks, that'll be £14 sir-don't think I'll be going there again.

The Smithy, Newhaven, Biggin m near to Hartington is a top end B&B not far from Bakewell

Don't forget to look at all the trout and grayling in the river between the bridges near the car park

I was brought up in the area and it is interesting to see the b&Bs now available , prices will be high as it is a tourist area. The reviews for most seem to be mixed
Accommodations in Bakewell, Derbyshire - Reviews and Photos - TripAdvisor
You will have to decide which is most important , some of these places are next to the river , most of the "hotels " are just pubs , the interesting one with an incredible view is the Hunting Tower, on the hill above Chatsworth House , maybe a little over the top on price for a fishing trip ! Whichever you choose , |I am sure you will have a great time .
