Default suir dry fly

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was on the upper Suir yesterday with 2 French anglers. The rise started at about 10.30 and the trout eat the water for over 2 hours. The best trout measured 44cm and there was a lot of fish landed close to that on black gnat and BWO's. The may fly is starting to appear also and I would say we will be getting trout on them in the next week or so.

Default small flood

The river is up about 2 feet from the rain in the past few days and the salmon are starting to run.

Default Great fishing In ireland

The fishing has been great for the past few weeks since the big flood in early July. The salmon have started to run and we have had a few in the high teens so far but none above the 20lbs mark. The trout fishing has also produced some nice fish from the suir with 2 wild trout over 5 lbs so far. The Nire has loads of fish in the 2-3 lbs class if you fancy catching stockies.

Default Heavy rain

Heavy rain started last night and is forecast for the next 3 days so expect good salmon fishing for the rest of the season on the Suir and Blackwater.

Default Pike, Bass, and fly tying

Now that the Salmon and trout season has come to a close, it is time to start back at the Pike and Bass. I was on the sea yesterday. We had 2 good size Mullet on the fly, and there was 4 bass landed by my rods. The best was around 7lbs.
The 2010 winter fly tying classes are starting soon. To secure your place contact me on the numbers above. Now is also a good time to catch yourself a great deal on tackle and the Fishhunt store is having huge clearance sale to make room for the hunting season stock. Excellent value on ex demo rods from Orvis, Hardy, Sage snowbee, G-loomis, Vision, guideline and many more.
