Default It's caenis time

Sorry, but admin has asked me which account I'd like to keep. So I am having to let braveheart go and since I will no longer have control over my sbs's I have no choice but to delete them.
However these sbs's and many more are available, free, on ukflydressing and the wild fishing forums.

very nice BH. I've been wondering how best to split the tails like that. i imagine a CDC spent wing would be a suitable modification.

what about a cdc spent pattern with a para hackle and post to aid visibility/floatability? would that work in this case as is used on some spent mayflies.

have u any thoughts on the caenis nymph which i'm told fish also like?

You could use CDC, but poly is more durable and you don't have to change fly in the middle of a rise because it won't float anymore.
Adding a para hackle and post is only complicating things IMO, this one is remarkably easy to see.
For a caenis nymph use a small hare's ear(18/20) but with a dark thorax, I usually use dyed black mole for the thorax on mine.

Nice Fly. Are you partial about this bright color with the spinners? I mostly have seen such patterns with a rather dark, olive body. A spinner is bit new in my flybox as our German browns in the creeks mostly hit deer hair fly no matter what. However, I have recognized that for "that one fish" I need something more particular.

That's the only one to use on my waters TZ, I've never seen them as dark as yours.

Yes, if you treat it with Dilly Wax, or as an alternative, use Niche Siliconised Yarn.
Whichever I use though, I always Dilly Wax the fly anyway.

Looks like a nice small fly to fish with. I would really like to try one to match the hatch, but there is nothing rising for them at the moment....!!

i shall have a go at tying a few up anyway
