Thread: Standard Chartreuse
Tail: White Zonker Strip with a Fluoro Green/Yellow/Pink Bead
Body: Chartreuse Fritz
Eyes: Medium Silver Dumbbell Eyes
Hook: Kamasan B170 Size 8
The bead is optional, I tend to not bother, we've found that if you add a small piece of Fluoro Pink Fritz at the bend it acts as a hotspot and reduces the tail nipping. Although, for the purpose of this step by step I have shown the original pattern.
Step 1:
Push a pre-cut zonker strip through the eye of a fluoro bead using a dubbing needle.
Step 2:
Slide the bead half way along the zonker strip, you can glue this in place if you wish with a drop of superglue.
Step 3:
Attach the thread at the eye.
Step 4:
Using figure of eight turns, secure a set of silver dumbbell eyes onto the hook (not too close to the eye).
Step 5:
Wind the thread down the hook shank, and secure in the zonker strip as shown (leave a little tag).
Step 6:
Tie in a section of Chartreuse fritz, wind the thread half way along the hook shank, wrap the frtiz 3 times around the hook.
Step 7:
Pull the tag from the zonker back over the top of the fritz and secure with a couple of wraps of thread.
Step 8:
Wind the thread back up to the eye, followed by the fritz, secure, whip/hitch finish and varnish.
