Hook: Any curved hook (2x strong)

Thread: unithread 8/0 to match the color of the fly’s body.

Tinsel: golden or silver- at the fly tyier’s choice. It is used as underbody.

Body: Dubbing made of bright colors of CDC: tabac,olive, yellow.br/>
Torax: Dubbing made of grey rabbit hair.

Recommendations: Make a loop with the dubbing in order for it to be equally attached.If the CDC bars are longer, you can trim them.The CDC dubbing must be set in rare turns so that the underbody made of tinsel can be seen.

























The tinsel sparkles especially in deep waters being more attractive to fish. The last 2 pictures point to the body that becomes semi-transparent when it becomes moist.
This fly imitates the emergers of may flies, caddis, chironomidae pupa etc, transforming it into a universal pattern which is extremly efficient.

Nice pattern and step by step, Lucian.

Just curious: rather than have the tinsel underbody, have you tried simplifying the pattern by using nickel plated hooks?

PS In your instructions, "rare turns" should perhaps read "open turns"?

I take it the last 2 pics is just the fly moistened with saliva? or have you added anything to it?

One other question.
We all know the qualites CDC has for floatability will this fly sink straight away when casted or is it better to moisten it first before casting so that it sinks.

I didn't use nickel plated hooks because I didn't find any. Then, part of the reason for my choosing the tinsel is its brighteness in comparison with hooks.It is also easier to match its golden/silver color with the colors of the body.

And you were right about the "open turns",that is what I meant but my english still needs improving

The fly is wet on purpose so that you can get a picture of the way it looks when it's under water.CDC is also transparent(when it's wet) making the fly look like a living thing.It also had the capacity to capture thin bubbles of air which increases the fish's interest.This is why the nymphs tied with CDC are very efficient.

CDC is very floating and very realistic. But is not so perfect. After the fly will get wet, will remain wet. And very realistic! So it is better to moisten it before first cast. But this fly doesn’t has a big amount of CDC, so will sink even without this, only using a “stronger” first cast. Usually we use 2 nymphs, because in Romania this is accepted everywhere. The second one can be heavy, to take this one in the “warm zone”.
