Lovely fly Richard, I saw the previous article about it on your blog and tried to imitate a few using deer hair tails. they seemed to work alright and accounted for a few fish on Saturday.

Definitely enjoyable and tricky fishing in the evening. Didn' seem to track down the BWO swarms you were talking about though, just dribs and drabs but the fish were rising to them.

Cracking pattern Richard, will have to add a few to an already overcrowded box. I've tried googling for an SBS to your Non Descript Sedge without joy. Perhaps if there is one anywhere online you could point me to it. Thanks, Tim

Have they worked for you? Have you caught any fish with them yet?

The Poly Prop Sherry (PPS) has really been a very effective fly this last three or four weeks. It is about as infallible a fly could ever be, within reason...

Sent a wash of nostalgia through these old bones.

Well that is an interesting question and current to recent experiments conducted over the last four or five weeks...

I sometimes use quite heavy hooks as some of the fish round here can straighten normal dry fly hooks out with ease. I changed the wing material to the Aero Wing stuff a couple of years ago and that coupled with the generous and splayed tail holds it up very nicely indeed but... the absolute perfection has come about since I started using Water Shed a few weeks ago, after reading the recommendations on the forum.

I keep it on my fly tying desk and use it there, following the instructions. Floatation is now remarkable even after several fish.

Nostalgia? Get out there! Make it "current affairs" again!
