This one was working on the Avon this week.
Hook: TMC 200R #12
Thread: Gordon Griffiths 8/0
Tail: 3 black deer hairs
Rib: Pearl
Wing: White calf tail
Hackle: Cree
Start thread off and run half way down the hook, come back to wing position and tie in a small pinch of calf tail.
Cut and taper butts.
Build a thread bump to raise wing.
Run thread to barb and tie in tail.
Tie in rib.
Take a good pinch of Hare's mask from the cheeks, you want the light tan stuff.
Split thread and insert dubbing.
Spin to make a spiky dubbing rope.
Wind body to wing and rib.
Tie in hackle and put 3 turns before the wing and 2 turns after, whip finish.
