Default GRHE Nymph

I have added a new fly to the River Fly Box: The GRHE Nymph.

A no-nonsense bruiser; but effective!

River Fly Box, tying the GRHE Nymph, gold rib hare's ear

Cheers,
Dave

Dave, amazing tying as ever!

Fancy donating a few to our river flies charity auction box?

... no sweat if not.

PS

Lucian would of course be more than welcome as well

Dave,I think most anglers feel confident with the GRHE on the cast.I have had great fishing these last few weeks with it.As usual your flies are brilliant tied.

Hi Dave,
Lovely flies but can you tell me why you use such wide ribbing. As i look at the Black beaded fly it looks more gold rib than there is hare showing. On your SBS you say you use medium flat gold wire any reason??. I would of thought a thinner flat wire would show more of the hare's ear body.

Regards
Ian

I've just tied my first flies woop woop

To Tie mine I used:

Hook: Kamasan B170 Size 14
Bead: Veniards 2.5mm Gold Bead
Thread: Olive Uni 6/0
Tail: Ear's Guards
Body: Hare's Ear
Rib: Gold Wire

Here's a question, whats the difference in thread numbers i.e. 6/0, 8/0, 14/0 etc...?

ta
