Default Copydex Buzzer

Ok lads, go easy on me. This is my first step by step.

First spread a thin layer of copydex on some glass in a square or rectangle shape. Lay a few strands of UV flash so that they stick out over the edge of square. Cut some black dubbing over the square.

Once this has dried, carefully role the copydex up in a stin cigar shape. Colour with black patone pen and allow to dry.

Catch in some UV flah at the eye of the hook and run the thread down to the middle of the hook shank.

Catch in the prepared copydex body

Tie in a sunburst edge goose biot on each side and catch in some blue holo tinsel

Build up a thorax with thread and wing the blue holo tinsel over the finish thorax. Bring the goose biots over the side of the thorax to create the cheeks

Tie in some peacock herl and turn 3 times towards the eye. Whip finish and carefully add 2 coats of varnish to cover the holo tinsel and goose biots

I've admired these buzzers every time you've put them up.

But what is copydex?

Hi,

Copydex is an adhesive, normally available in craft shops.

Okay mate. Now here is a couple of patterns where I have used Copydex.

These have 3 layers over 3 microfibbets

What I think you could do is a couple of things:
1. Try taking a single piece o material and coating it with Copydex a few times to create a body. In the flies above I have done this by layers of Copydex over some Microfibbets.
2. Why not use a hook like the Varivas 2200, make an under body of materials (e.g. Black /redOrange) and then cover it with a few layers of Copydex.

I think the material has great potential and if I fished still waters I may have experimented further.
