Default Wanted step-by-step Mayfly pattern

Does anyone know where I can get an on-line step by step for a dry mayfly pattern? The previous posts on the forum appear to have been removed.

I know its quite early to be thinking about this, but its good to be prepared.

I have promised Sweenytodd that I would do a SBS of Oliver Edwards Mohican Mayfly. It wont be untill the begining of February when I can get some more cream foam. Keep an eye out for it.

Hi Matt, why not use Goddards Poly May Dun, you won't need a step by step and it is easily the best dressing.

Size 10/12 normal or slightly longer shank.

Tie in bunch of golden (yellow) calf tail for tail (shuck) about same length as body will be. Don't clip off but bind to shank on top all the way to winging point, go back tie in white poly yarn at tail - form a body. Now form a 45% split wing with the calf tail butts, black hackle then form head with dubbing or by continuing poly yarn.

actually it might be easier to form wings before tying in body. The dressing is sooo easy I do 'em on auto.

Dead easy and deadly.

That's a nice mayfly and a lot of variations could be safely added. eg putting on another head hackle of french partridge, natural or olive dyed. Perhaps using natural raffia for the body!
About to tie up some mayflies and that one Lucian will certainly be copied.
Many thanks
Michael
